Ethnolink Awarded 2-Year Contract with the Office of the eSafety Commissioner

Ethnolink has been awarded a 2-year contract with the Office of the eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) for the provision of translation services, following a competitive tender process. This move underscores Ethnolink’s dedication to ensuring that online safety resources are accessible to Australians of all cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Since 2011, Ethnolink has been a leading provider of language solutions to Government to help engage and communicate with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Australians. Now, with this contract, Ethnolink is proud to be expanding its services into the crucial area of online safety.

As part of this new endeavour, Ethnolink will be translating eSafety educational resources and other assets into targeted community languages. This will include content related to eSafety investigations in a variety of formats, including website assets, publications, audio, and video files.

Translations will be provided in at least 27 languages, reflecting the breadth of linguistic diversity in Australia. This includes a wide range of languages, from Arabic and Simplified Chinese to Dinka and Karen.

The eSafety Commissioner is Australia’s national independent regulator for online safety. eSafety exercises powers under Australian Government legislation, primarily the Online Safety Act 2021, to protect Australians from serious online harms. eSafety’s research and reporting trends show that people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are at an increased risk of online hate speech and other forms of cyber abuse.

Ethnolink, renowned for its ISO-17100 Certified translation services, has been recognised by several organisations for its commitment to quality and efficiency.
