Ethnolink partnered with Cancer Council Victoria to improve awareness and accessibility of supportive care services for Arabic and Vietnamese-speaking communities. The project focused on developing culturally relevant, multilingual communications to help individuals affected by cancer—and their carers—understand and access the support available to them. Ethnolink provided strategic consultation, community consultation, translations and end-to-end creative production to deliver tailored resources for each language group.
Cancer Council Victoria identified that Arabic and Vietnamese-speaking communities often face barriers when accessing cancer support services. These include language differences, cultural perceptions of cancer, and limited awareness of available resources. Understanding the unique experiences and support needs of each community was critical to developing effective communication materials that built trust and encouraged engagement.
Ethnolink conducted community consultations with people affected by cancer, carers, health professionals, and community leaders from Arabic and Vietnamese backgrounds. These consultations informed the messaging, tone, and creative execution of all campaign materials. We developed a tailored suite of multilingual assets for each community, including social media tiles, digital screen assets, posters, bilingual brochures, and animated videos. All resources were reviewed with cultural sensitivity in mind to ensure accessibility and resonance with the target audiences. This strategic, community-informed approach helped increase visibility, understanding, and trust in Cancer Council Victoria’s support services.
