Overview

Challenge

Intel was aiming to increase their brand awareness in China and to better engage with Mandarin speaking consumers. They had identified that video was an effective means to do this, however they were worried about language and cultural considerations that needed to be made when producing a video in another language.

Solution

Ethnolink was bought into the project by Punchy Digital Media to produce a Mandarin voice over for the animated explainer video that Punchy produced. We were able to share our sound understanding of the Chinese language and culture, and used our expertise to translate the script into Simplified Chinese, source an appropriate voice talent, and organise the Mandarin voice over recording.

The animated video contained minimal on-screen text however, where the text does appear, Ethnolink also coordinated the translation into Simplified Chinese. We also provided a full in-context review at the end, by a native speaker of each language, to ensure that the voice-overs and on-screen text matched the timing of the videos.
