The Disability Royal Commission (DRC), which was established in April 2019 in response to community concern about widespread reports of violence against, and the neglect, abuse and exploitation of people with disability. The DRC knew that they were not hearing the stories of all Australians and recognised that they needed a way to engage with people with a disability from a culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, who have experienced violence, abuse neglect or exploitation, so that they could encourage them to share their stories.

Ethnolink worked in collaboration with the creative agency appointed by the Disability Royal Commission to produce multilingual animated videos which contain on-screen text and voice overs in Tagalog, Arabic, Vietnamese, Hindi and Simplified Chinese respectively.

We translated the scripts, sourced appropriate voice-over talents for each language, coordinated the voice-over recordings and translated any on-screen text. We also provided a full in-context review at the end, by a native speaker of each language, to ensure that the voice-overs and on-screen text matched the timing of the videos.
