On 4 December 2024, Ethnolink’s Founder and CEO, Costa Vasili, was officially inducted into the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll at a ceremony held at Government House.
Presented by Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, and attended by Premier Jacinta Allan, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt, and VMC Chairperson Vivienne Nguyen, the Honour Roll recognises individuals who have made a lasting impact on Victoria’s multicultural communities.
Costa was acknowledged for his 14-year commitment to multilingual and multicultural communications, having led Ethnolink’s growth into Australia’s largest multicultural communications agency.
Reflecting on the honour, Costa shared:
“I’m incredibly proud to receive this award, especially in the presence of my parents, George and Christine. Their journey to Australia shaped the values I hold today. It was a truly humbling experience.
This recognition — for exceptional and lasting contributions to multiculturalism in Victoria — means so much to me.
When I started Ethnolink 13 years ago, at just 20 years old, I had a vision: to connect Australia through language.
What made the evening even more special was having two of my biggest heroes by my side — my parents.
As many of you know, my dad’s journey from Cyprus and his experiences as a migrant have always been a huge source of inspiration for the work we do at Ethnolink. It’s his story, and countless others like it, that fuel my personal drive.”
Costa also thanked the team behind Ethnolink — “both those with us today and those who have contributed to our journey over the years” — and gave special recognition to the agency’s exceptional translators, whose care and commitment ensure critical messages reach communities across the country.
Today, Ethnolink is proud to be Australia’s largest multicultural communications agency, delivering high-quality, ISO-certified translation services for government and not-for-profit clients.
As Costa noted, none of it would be possible without the incredible people who make up the Ethnolink team.
It was an inspiring night — and a meaningful celebration of the individuals and organisations working every day to build a more inclusive, connected Victoria.
