Ethnolink is proud to announce that we are now officially recognised as a NAATI-endorsed Language Service Provider (LSP) under NAATI’s newly established endorsement model.
The endorsement represents an important milestone for Ethnolink and reinforces our longstanding commitment to delivering high-quality, ethical and professional language services to Australia’s diverse communities.
The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) is Australia’s national standards and certifying authority for the translating and interpreting profession and is responsible for setting and maintaining professional standards for translators and interpreters in Australia.

What is the NAATI LSP endorsement model?
Introduced in 2026 with the authorisation of Australian, state and territory governments, the Language Service Provider endorsement model establishes national expectations for organisations delivering translation and interpreting services.
The model provides an additional layer of assurance for organisations procuring language services, including government agencies, by recognising LSPs that demonstrate appropriate standards across practitioner engagement, ethical conduct, cybersecurity, quality assurance and service delivery.
To become and remain endorsed, LSPs must meet six key requirements relating to:
- Engaging and prioritising appropriately credentialed NAATI-certified practitioners for translation and interpreting assignments wherever possible
- Complying with the LSP Code of Conduct, including relevant legal obligations and the responsible and ethical use of technology and AI
- Maintaining appropriate cybersecurity standards and practices to protect information and support secure service delivery
- Reporting required service-related data to NAATI on a quarterly basis
- Maintaining appropriate quality assurance processes and mechanisms for client and customer feedback
- Having appropriate processes for onboarding practitioners and allocating assignments
Why does NAATI endorsement matter?
A key component of the model is the prioritisation of NAATI-certified practitioners.
Professional translation and interpreting requires far more than proficiency in two languages. NAATI certification recognises the skills, competencies and ethical standards required to practise professionally, while supporting ongoing professional development and accountability.
For clients, working with a NAATI-endorsed LSP provides additional assurance that their language service provider operates within a recognised framework for quality, professional practice, security and accountability.
For Ethnolink, the endorsement complements the quality systems we already have in place, including our ISO 17100 certification for translation services and ISO 18587 certification for post-editing of machine translation output. Together, these frameworks support our commitment to delivering language services that are accurate, secure, culturally appropriate and fit for purpose.
Supporting the future of professional language services
We’re proud to be part of the continued evolution of Australia’s language services sector and to support higher standards for the way organisations communicate with multicultural communities.
To coincide with the introduction of the endorsement model, Ethnolink also collaborated with NAATI representatives to host a webinar and panel discussion.
The session explores what the new LSP endorsement model means, how it supports quality language service delivery, and what clients and NAATI-certified practitioners need to know.
