As Ethnolink’s Head of Production, Bethany draws on a rich linguistic and cross-cultural background shaped by her upbringing in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her early experiences in a multilingual environment led her to study multiple languages. Bethany went on to complete her Masters in Interpreting and Translation Studies at Monash University and is now a NAATI Certified translator.
Bethany was born in Australia but grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal. The experience of growing up in a country where she did not speak the official language inspired Bethany to study languages. Through school and self-study, Bethany has learnt varying amounts of French, Chinese, Nepali and Indonesian.
Spanish, however, is Bethany’s biggest passion. She worked as a Language and Culture Assistant in Madrid for a year before spending time in South America in 2017. She returned to Australia to complete her Master in Interpreting and Translation Studies at Monash University and is now a NAATI Certified translator.
While still studying, Bethany completed an internship with us, and after she graduated, we welcomed her aboard first as a Project Manager and eventually as Head of Production. Her passion and dedication inspire us every day, and we count our lucky stars to have Bethany working with us!
