Mandarin Voice Over

Chinese Voice Over Artists for Australian organisations

NAATI TranslatorDo you need to hire a narrator who speaks the Mandarin language? Then, you’re in the right place!

The Mandarin language is one of the most widely spoken languages around the world. Today, it has more than 955 million native speakers and is the official language of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the People’s Republic of China. Not only that but it is one of the United Nations’ six official languages. Did you know that in the West, it is the fastest growing second language?

Most often used in businesses, Mandarin has become one of the languages that most business leaders study. When it comes to using the Mandarin dialect, intonation plays a major role. Generally, there are four or five tones used in speaking the language. With this, speakers are required to use not only one but both of the temporal lobes of the brain. This helps in understanding the words which use several intonations in the Mandarin language.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of voice-over project can you provide me?

We can record it as long as it speaks!

Here at EthnoLink Language Services, we can record all types of voice-over including e-Learning and training, documentary, advertising, IVR and telephone messaging, broadcast and computer games.

What’s the difference between recording to picture and recording ‘wild’?

‘Wild’ recordings are where the voice artists read aloud a script at a natural pace. There’s no way of knowing its length. As such, it can be quite difficult and time-consuming to edit the presentation, animation, and video to fit the voice-over’s timings.

On the other hand, a voice-over that’s recorded to picture is one that ensures it will synchronise to the video’s original audio. Often, this takes twice as long compared to the ‘wild’ recording since the artist needs to retake sections to time the audio correctly to the video.

There are several ways of recording voice-overs in video projects:

  • Time-synced voice-over narration: This is recorded to picture.
  • Wild voice-over narration: This voice-over has no timing constraints and not recorded to picture.
  • UN style voice-over: This is recorded to picture. It’s the perfect fit for serious films and often used for news broadcasts and documentaries where interviews are conducted on camera and the interviewee speaks in a language that the target audience can’t understand.
  • Phrase-sync dubbing: In here, the phrase is in sync with the mouth movements, but it’s not exact.
  • Lip-sync dubbing: This is probably the most difficult process where the person’s mouth movements are exactly synced to the audio.

The method you will choose will depend on your taste, budget, and the preferences of your audience.

How quickly can I get a voice-over recorded?

This depends on the availability of your selected voice artist. However, we can schedule projects at short notice so let us know if you have an urgent project. Most of our projects have an average turnaround time of two to three business days to schedule, record and post produce.

How will I receive the voice-over recording?

We can send you the audio as a raw and unedited file, or we can edit, clean, name and deliver you the audio in any resolution and format you require.

Not only that but we can also re-integrate the audio back to the video, as well as encode the final video in any resolution and video file format that you need.
