Kannada translation and interpreter FAQs

Kannada is the official language of the state of the Karnataka in Southern India.

As of 2011, there were approximately 43 million native speakers of Kannada.

In 2016, the Census recorded 9,698 Kannada speakers in Australia. This number grew by nearly 4,000 people between 2011 and 2016, and the 2021 Census is expected to show even more growth in the number of Kannada speakers in Australia.

The Kannada language is written using the Kannada script, which has a rich history that dates back to the 5th century.

Kannada script consists of forty-nine phonemic letters, divided into three groups, with the character set being almost identical to that of other Indian languages.

You can send us your documents in whatever format you have - a PDF, Word file, scan, or a photo. As long as the text is readable and clear, our professional translators can translate it for you. But before that happens, our Translation Strategists will analyse them and provide you with a personalised quote.

If you have any specific requirements, let us know and we will do our absolute best to accommodate.

Probably not. As Kannada is written using a non-Latin script, it is likely that the length of any translations will be different to that of the source text. Our translation specialists will be able to advise and guide you on this, so that the end product still matches your expectations.

Depending on the length of your document, it will take 2-3 business days to receive your Kannada translation.

Contact our Interpreting Strategy team via our Book an Interpreter page, and they'll be in touch to coordinate an interpeter to meet your needs.

Yes! We work with interpreters all across the country who can help to facilitate communication wherever you are. If an interpreter is unable to physically attend your meeting or conference, we have a suite of remote options, including video interpreting and telephone interpreting, to help overcome communication barriers.
