Lavinia Napaltjarri Heffernan, a proud Pintupi-Luritja woman from Papunya, has dedicated her career to the preservation and promotion of Aboriginal languages and culture. As a NAATI-certified Pintupi-Luritja interpreter and Project Officer for NAATI’s Indigenous Interpreting Project, she works tirelessly to increase the number of certified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language interpreters, ensuring effective communication and cultural understanding across Australia.
