"We worked with Ethnolink to translate health service resources on a sensitive topic into ten local community languages, to support a service to be more inclusive, welcoming and equitable. The service provided by Ethnolink was very high quality and timely, and the resources are the first of their kind in Australia, and have been well received by the local community." "

The challenge

Palliative Care South East were looking to create a 'Carer Support Kit' & campaign poster in community languages to provide carers with useful information and tips, in their preferred language, to help them care for their loved ones. They wanted to engage as many members of the community as possible, and present this information in a professional and engaging way.

The solution

The Ethnolink team worked with Larter Consulting to translate the Kit into ten languages and undertook independent checking for the poster, typesetting, proofreading and production.

The client's bilingual staff members undertook checking for the Kit to help us ensure that the final product was suitable for use by community members.

The results

The 74- page kit and campaign poster were translated and independently checked by NAATI certified translators. The translated materials were then typeset in Adobe InDesign and proofread again by all translators and our project managers. The resources have helped Palliative Care South East to provide a more inclusive and welcoming service to the community.
